英国知名设计品牌Tom Dixon 的创始人Tom Dixon被誉为“当今全球最具创意的设计鬼才”，他的作品被全球众多博物馆所收藏，但其实对于这个自学成才的设计师而言，相比设计Tom Dixon 更喜欢焊接。Tom Dixon把利用废铜烂铁变成真金白银的本领运用到设计当中，1987年，Tom Dixon的灵光一闪的随手一画，设计出了焊接S椅之后名声大噪。1992 年，“S Chair”被伦敦V&A博物馆永久收藏，纽约MoMA更于不久后表示对Tom Dixon的赏识。 2000年英国皇室授予了TOM DIXON不列颠帝国勋章，以表彰他为白金汉宫提供的优秀设计服务。 2002年Tom Dixon成立了自己的同名品牌。产品线非常广泛，涵盖灯饰、家具及相关配件。Tom Dixon之所以把金属作为原材料并利用焊接技术进行节点设计，据说是源自Tom高超的电焊技艺。
